1. Who is responsible
The data controller for quan-tech.net and the Quantech apps is Ionut Pometcu, trading as Quantum Flow (business name registered with the Companies Registration Office (CRO), Ireland), 18 Clayton Hall, Staplestown Road, Carlow, R93 RH92, Ireland.
For anything about your data, including exercising your rights, email [email protected].
2. What we collect
| Data | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Name, username, email, password (stored hashed), optional phone number | You create an account | To give you an account and sign you in |
| Date of birth | You sign up, or Settings | To confirm you are 18 or older. An account found to be under 18 is deleted; a change of birth date to under 18 is refused, and we're told (with your email, IP address and browser) to prevent misuse |
| Google account name, email and picture | You sign in with Google | To create or sign in to your account |
| Products you hold, sign-ins and account activity, and the IP address and browser of each signed-in session | You use Quantech | To give you access, keep your account secure and support you |
| Live sessions you join; your name, chat messages, and voice/video if a host brings you on stage | You join a live session | To run the session; sessions may be recorded and published to members |
| Reviews, bug reports and their screenshots, the page and browser you reported from — and, for a report sent from the Charts apps, the app's version and computer type and, if you leave that box ticked, the app's log of that session and the one before (what it did and the errors it met; no passwords, keys or tokens) | You send feedback | To fix problems and improve Quantech |
| Your email and message | You use the Contact form | To reply to you |
| Device and session identifiers, layouts and data you create in Charts | You use the Charts app | To sign you in on your device and save your work |
| Trades from the Charts app: instrument, side, size, prices, profit and loss, fees, and the broker and account name they were placed with | Only if you turn on trade journaling | To show your trade journal and its statistics |
| Pages viewed, referrer, device type, language, a hashed IP address and approximate location (country, city) | Only if you accept analytics cookies | To understand how the site is used |
| IP address and technical logs | Any request | Security, abuse prevention and rate limiting |
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
3. Legal bases
- Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) — running your account, products, live sessions and the Charts app.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — security, preventing abuse, fixing bugs, replying to messages and improving the service.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — analytics cookies and Charts trade journaling. You can withdraw it any time (Cookie settings, or the journaling switch in Charts); that does not affect earlier processing.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — where the law requires us to keep or disclose data.
4. Who processes it for us
We use a small number of providers, under data processing agreements, only to run Quantech:
- PixellLab LLC (USA) — the developer of the Quantech platform and the Charts app, which we distribute under a licence and distribution agreement with them. They also operate and support the platform for us, so they can access personal data — only to build, run, secure and maintain it, on our instructions, under the data processing terms (Art. 28 GDPR) and Standard Contractual Clauses in that agreement.
- Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany) — servers, database, file storage, email and live-video servers. Data stays in the EU.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) — DNS, content delivery and protection against attacks; it sees IP addresses and approximate location.
- Google LLC (USA) — only if you choose Sign in with Google.
Where data can be accessed from outside the EEA (PixellLab LLC, Cloudflare, Google), it is protected by the EU–US Data Privacy Framework where the recipient is certified, and otherwise by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. How long we keep it
- Account data — while your account exists. Deleting your account (Settings) removes it, except what we must keep by law.
- Feedback — while it helps us improve Quantech; ask us any time to delete yours.
- Charts trade journal — while your account exists; you can delete simulated trades yourself, and the rest goes when you delete your account or ask us.
- Contact messages — in our mailbox only as long as needed to handle your request.
- Live session recordings — until we unpublish or delete them.
- Analytics visits — 13 months, then deleted automatically.
- Security logs — only as long as needed, normally no more than 90 days.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy;
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data ("right to be forgotten");
- restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent at any time.
Email [email protected]; we reply within one month.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. Our lead authority is Ireland's Data Protection Commission (21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, Ireland — www.dataprotection.ie). You can also complain to the authority where you live or work — for example, in Romania, ANSPDCP (www.dataprotection.ro).
7. Security
Traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored hashed, access to production systems is limited to the people who need it, and files are stored privately with short-lived links.
8. Age
Quantech is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you by email or in the app.
